A look and style of a room can be achieved just by using textures. Layers of texture suggest history and a personalized space. A combination of cotton, wool, faux fur in pillows or throws creates an inviting space you just want to settle into. White makes for an ideal textured space, but any monochrome color palette can work.
Texture also suggest softness, you can go with soft flooring in wall to wall carpet and layer an area rug over it, add soft furniture such as padded ottomans to make a comfy and safe space for babies. You can add throws and pillows in textured fabrics to give the room a unique and soothing sensation.
Here are some examples of how to use texture in a space to inspire you ~
Wall art: from traditional wallpaper application, to a giant canvas print or decals, wall art will instantly add texture to the room, try our blue and/or gray collection to compliment this room.
Plush decor: adding a playful rocking animal or faux fur chair softens the harsh feel of furniture, even the metal table looks softer. Plush decor is also baby friendly.
Macrame: in hanging art or weaved baskets, boho chic is here to stay. We love the natural color palette in these rooms. Our luxe linen collection will complement this setting very well.
Area rug: layering the floor with area rugs creates a safe and inviting space for babies to crawl in. Try Ikea for smaller, but still great, area rugs ~ at more cost effective pricing.
Movement: by mixing several textures like the basket weave metal & leather or wood and plush lamp, you are creating a calm flow for the eye and adding an interesting depth to the room.
